If you are tired of playing poker at the tables there is an option that you can consider. In fact it is more than just a secondary option. The answer is video poker. Even though video poker is not played with other players and a dealer, these machines can make for a lot of fun and large profits.
Video Poker, The Game
The main difference between video poker and playing at the tables is that it will just be you against the machine. You never have to worry about other players one upping you. And since there are no other players involved, you win anytime you compile a winning hand. Sound good?
The first step to playing video poker is making a bet. On most machines you will have the ability to bet up to five coins. And the more you bet, the more you can win. With each coin that you add to your bet your winnings will multiply. So if you want to win as much money as possible, you will want to bet the maximum amount of coins on every hand.
After you have your bet placed, you will be dealt five cards. At this point you will need to look at your cards, decide if you like what you have, and then make a decision on how many new cards you want. You are allowed to opt for up to five new cards if you do not have anything that you like. If you do have a couple of cards that are of interest, you will hit the ?hold? button below the corresponding card. This way you will not get rid of them when your new cards are dealt.
After you are dealt cards the second time around the game is over. You will instantly be told if you have won anything. If you have, your machine will be credited the appropriate amount of credits. You can then cash them out, or continue playing with them; the choice is yours.
Playing video poker is different than playing at the tables. Even though you will win with the same hands, there are differences that you must be aware of. One of the most important is that you are not under any sort of time constraint. When playing at a table you will have other players waiting on you to make your next move. But with video poker the only thing that you have to be concerned with is yourself. You can take as much time as you want to figure out what you want to do. And why not take your time? There is no benefit to hurrying up, so it is in your best interest to analyze each hand.
Video poker can be tons of fun. Not to mention the fact that your odds of winning at video poker are much greater than with slot machines.
